| What is LumbrokinaseH |
Lumbrokinase is plasmin that is extracted from intestines and the bodily
fluids of Lumbricus rubellus, the red worm.
Dr. Hisashi Mihara, the professor emeritus of Miyazaki Medical College,
has discovered how to successfully extract plasmin from Lumbricus rubellus.
He named the extracted Lumbrokinase after the scientific name of the earthworm.
Dr. Mihara presented his study at the International Society & Thrombosis
and Hemostasis Conference in Stockholm in 1983.
Since Lumbrokinase is the plasmin that directly dissolves only fibrin,
which causes thrombus. Without harming the veins, Lumbrokinase is effective
in diseases caused by thrombus such as myocardial infarction, diabetes,
cerebral infarction, heart disease and high blood pressure. Lumbrokinase
is the first thrombolytic enzyme in the world.
The Lumbrokinase-containing Lumbricus rubellus freeze-dried powder is the
main ingredient in Lun-Wan.
